Artist Statement
My art is about the ways we connect. Every painting is an expression intended to convey an idea, message or feeling. Whether it be through light and shadow, color, or the message in the work, the focus is human connection through expression. Art has the power to transcend.

Artist Bio
Taylor Gallegos grew up in Colorado, earned a BFA from Colorado State University, and spent a semester studying art in Tuscany before heading west. He settled in Carlsbad, CA, where he's built a practice spanning commercial murals, residential commissions, public art, and fine art studio work - across San Diego, Los Angeles, the Bay Area, and nationwide.
His path to large-scale work wasn't a straight line. Construction gave him lifts, heights, and commercial painting. Hospitality taught him how to listen, read what people actually want, and deliver it through a positive experience. Those years built something a BFA alone couldn't - an artist who integrates seamlessly into corporate, commercial, and residential environments and executes at scale without losing the art.
What keeps pulling him back to murals is the community aspect. They connect people, speak silently to everyone who passes by, and turn the walls they inhabit into landmarks. Taylor wants his work to be a force for Good. He sees murals as one of the best vehicles for that.
