Nature & Landscape Murals
by Taylor Gallegos
Nature murals bring the outside in - for schools, homes, wellness spaces, and any environment that needs to breathe. Taylor has created large-scale landscapes, animal scenes, and natural environments for clients across California, from community school projects to private residential commissions.
Bring Nature Into Your Interior
Nature murals bring the outside in - and do something to a room that no other design element can. Taylor has created large-scale landscapes, animal scenes, and natural environments for schools, homes, wellness spaces, and commercial interiors across California. Whether it's a sweeping mountain vista, a coastal scene, or a forest environment designed to make a room breathe, nature murals work across nearly every type of space. They're among the most universally loved - by kids and adults, in residential and commercial settings alike.
Taylor holds a BFA from Colorado State University and a CA C33 Specialty Painter's Contractor's License. Clients include Toyota, Hilton, Twitter HQ, and Sony PlayStation.
Murals Process
Nature and landscape murals are developed around the space and the intended feeling. Taylor works with clients to establish the scene, the palette, and the scale before creating sketches and digital mockups for approval. For school and community projects, Taylor collaborates with faculty, administrators, and students to develop imagery that reflects the character of the space. Surface preparation, painting, and protective sealing are all included. Available across San Diego County and California.

Realistic landscapes, painterly interpretations, stylized illustrations, and abstract nature-inspired work. The style is always driven by the space and the client - a children's school mural calls for something different than a wellness studio or a private residence. I'll recommend a direction based on your space, your audience, and what you want people to feel.
-
Yes. Location-specific murals - a favorite mountain range, a coastline, a forest, a local landmark - are some of the most meaningful commissions I do. Reference photos and geographic specifics help enormously. The more detail you can give me about the place and why it matters, the better the result.
-
Exceptionally well. Schools, nurseries, pediatric spaces, and family homes are among the best environments for nature murals. Animals, forests, oceans, and sky scenes create spaces where kids feel calm, curious, and at home. I use non-toxic, low-VOC materials for all projects for interior environments, so it’s never a problem.

Nature murals are one of the most effective design tools in wellness environments. The right landscape - calm water, open sky, soft forest light - changes how people feel in a room in a way that no other element can match. I've created murals for wellness studios and healing spaces across California and approach these projects with particular attention to color psychology and mood.
-
Yes. Color matching to existing decor, furniture, and finishes is part of the design process. I'll work from paint swatches, fabric samples, or photos of the space to ensure the mural palette integrates rather than competes with what's already in the room.
-
Item descriptionYes - and it's one of my favorite elements to work with. Wildlife and animal portraiture within a landscape adds life and narrative to a mural. Whether it's a single focal animal or a full ecosystem scene, I approach animal subjects with the same accuracy and care as human portraiture.
-
Smooth interior walls are ideal. Textured surfaces can add character to certain nature styles but require more paint and time. Exterior nature murals are possible with the right surface preparation and weather-grade materials. I'll assess the wall during the site visit and recommend the best approach.
